MLM Training

The generic MLM training featured here involves using simple low-cost methods that've been used by professional network marketers for many decades. Following is how I found out about this proven training.

Way back in the 1990s I worked with a professional network marketer who worked exclusively from home using his phone to call other network marketers, he faxed or mailed follow up sales tools to qualified prospects and then quickly followed up to recruit them into his downline.

He lived in a beautiful lakefront mansion and did live meetings only because some of his local downline people were hooked on doing things the way they were trained to do them in company sponsored MLM training and wanted to use his house as an impressive venue for presentations.

He told me privately that he found it was a waste of time to do live meetings, warm market prospecting, distributing company approved sales aids and so on but he didn't want to upset his upline and downline people by telling them this.

In 2001 I worked with 2 network marketers who were very successful partners in an advertising business.

One of them was relatively new to MLM and the other was an older man who had been trying to get rich in MLM for decades with one opportunity after another with little success.

You probably already know successful advertising men do extensive tracking to see what works and what doesn't work. Then of course they do more of what works and change or eliminate what doesn't work. They are continually testing and tweaking.

The older man had saved all of his old downline reports from prior opportunities and was calling these folks as well as doing all the other stuff that's been long proven ineffective.

Soon after he started calling MLM veterans from his past failed efforts the old man started building a huge downline very quickly and his income grew exponentially.

The interesting thing is that the older man would not admit that calling and recruiting MLM veterans was the only thing that worked even with the ad tracking evidence right in front of him.

The younger less experienced network marketer did some research and found the training of Tracy Biller in the form of an audio cassette.

In it Tracy told a familiar story of having failed in network marketing using the deeply flawed methods commonly taught in MLM company sponsored training and how he achieved massive success quickly when he started recruiting experienced network marketers.

In brief it's telemarketing targeting only experienced network marketers or MLM veterans asking a qualifying question, sending them persuasive sales tools, then closing them.

The initial call is referred to as the 30 second pitch and is kept very short and simple. All you're doing is asking a qualifying question and then providing persuasive sales tools to qualified prospects via computer.

Of course in the old days the follow up sales tools were sent by regular mail or faxed. This increased expenses and created lag time.

We're lucky to be able to communicate digitally. It's cheaper and speeds up the sales cycle tremendously. The sooner you follow up with your qualified prospects the more effective you will be.

The most effective MLM training involves targeting your marketing efforts at experienced network marketers. It's extremely cost effective and has a decades long proven track record of success. Tracy Biller does such a great job it would be foolish to try to duplicate all of his training here.

Again the heart of this generic MLM training involves telemarketing using a list of MLM veterans using what's called the 30 second pitch.

The two things that keep most people so devoted to these deeply flawed methods is emotional attachment and group think. This is especially the case when distributors attend MLM company live events in which emotions are skillfully and intentionally manipulated so lots of books, CDs, DVDs, MLM training seminars and company approved sales aids can be sold.

The folks conducting these live events are masterful sales people who know how to push their distributor's emotional hot buttons to greatest effect. These events are worth going to only to watch them.

Group meetings and presentations large and small naturally create a group dynamic phenomenon called group think. Group think forces most members of the group to believe whatever the group is doing is correct even when the facts prove otherwise.

In most groups non-conformist behavior is suppressed and non-conformists are generally shunned by group leaders and then group members.

Very few people succeed in network marketing. By definition successful network marketers are working in a way that clearly defines them as non-conformists. Being a mindful non-conformist is important to being objective and emotionally detached.

Just maintain a sense of objectivity. Remember to do more of what is proven to work and eliminate or change what has been proven to not work.
